The Wallowa County Clerk’s Office provides many services to the public. We conduct elections for state, county, cities, and special districts, maintain voter registrations, and keep election statistics.

Our office issues marriage licenses, records domestic partnerships, and executes passport applications. The Clerk’s office records legal documents, keeps records of Commissioners' Journals, and maintains county public records. The County Clerk is also the clerk of the Property Value Appeals Board (PVAB).

PUBLIC NOTICE  
 

Notice of Receipt of Prospective Petition and Ballot Title
 

Notice is hereby given that a Prospective Initiative Petition (IP 32-011) and Ballot Title has been filed with the Wallowa County Clerk of Wallowa County, Oregon on October 15th, 2025, for inclusion on the next scheduled election, which shall be determined after signature verification shows the petition contains the required number of signatures. An elector may file a petition for review of this ballot title in Wallowa County Circuit Court pursuant to ORS 250.195.

The following shall be on the ballot title:

  • Caption: Ends County Commissioner's Requirement to Discuss Relocation of State Border
     
  • Question: Shall the Commissioners no longer be required to meet twice annually to promote Wallowa County interest in relocating Idaho borders?
     
  • Summary: In May 2023, Wallowa County voters passed Measure 32-007, passing an ordinance.The ordinance requires the Wallowa County Board of Commissioners to meet twice annually on specified dates to relocate State Borders to become part of Idaho. The ordinance enforces the meetings by imposing a penalty for the County's failure to meet or for any person who hinders or cancels the meetings as a Class D violation, with a maximum fine of $125.

This measure would repeal the ordinance in its entirety. The Wallowa County Board of Commissioners would no longer be required to meet twice annually, and no person shall be subject to civil liability or penalty under the repealed ordinance.

As indicated in ORS 250.195, an elector may file a petition for review of this ballot title in Wallowa County Circuit Court.
