⚠️ RED FLAG WARNING for SATURDAY, AUGUST 1
The National Weather Service in Pendleton has issued a Red Flag Warning for portions of Wallowa County from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday, August 1, due to strong winds and low relative humidity.
A Particularly Dangerous Situation (PDS) is expected from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday for several areas, including the Canyon Grasslands of Wallowa County and the Eagle Cap Wilderness.
🔥 West winds of 20 to 30 mph, with gusts up to 40 mph
🔥 Relative humidity as low as 15%
🔥 Any new or existing fire could spread rapidly
The National Weather Service warns that these conditions could contribute to extreme fire behavior.
Please use extra caution and avoid activities that could cause a spark or start a fire. Outdoor burning is not recommended.
