WALLOWA COUNTY — Big changes are coming for Wallowa County Veterans! The Wallowa County Veterans Services Office (VSO) is moving to a new location inside the Wallowa County ESD building, offering a greatly expanded space designed to better serve those who have served our country.
At a recent county commission meeting, commissioners approved the contract for the Veterans Service Office, marking an important step in securing the new space. The move has strong support from county leadership, with Commissioner Lisa Collier even taking us on a tour of the ESD building to highlight the many amenities that will be available to veterans.
The new location will feature a welcoming community room, a fully equipped conference room, and expanded access to both physical and mental health services, among many other Veterans’ resources. Veterans will also find exclusive Veterans Only parking spots, beautiful new hand painted signage by local artist Ryan Finlayson to easily identify the new space from the outside of the building, and welcoming and friendly new and old Veteran Services staff.
“This new space is a game-changer for veterans in Wallowa County,” said Lisa Collier, Wallowa County Commissioner. “With dedicated areas for group meetings, private consultations, and close access to health services, we’re creating a hub where veterans can connect, receive care, and find the assistance they need. We’ve also added staff to better connect veterans with local resources and reduce response times. We are fully committed to our valued vets!”
