Passports

PLEASE NOTE: The Clerk’s Office will no longer process passport applications on an election day.

ALL FIRST TIME PASSPORT APPLICANTS MUST APPEAR IN PERSON, INCLUDING CHILDREN.

There are two types of passports; one is a book, and the other is a card. Books are good for travel anywhere. Cards can only be used to enter the U.S. from Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean and Bermuda at land border crossings or sea ports-of-entry. It cannot be used for international air travel.

Passport forms are available in the County Clerk’s office or visit the website U.S. Department of State.

U.S. Passport Book Fees

Age 16 or older: Total fee is $165; the passport fee is $130.00 payable to U.S. Dept. of State. The execution fee is $35.00 payable to Wallowa County. A passport is valid for 10 years.

Age 16 or older RENEWAL: Total fee is $130.00 payable to U.S. Dept of State. There is no execution fee as you submit the application yourself.

Age 16 or younger: Total fee is $135.00; the passport fee is $100.00 payable to U.S. Dept. of State. The execution fee is $35.00 payable to Wallowa County. Both parents/guardians must be present to sign the application. Passport is valid for 5 years.

U.S. Passport Card Fees

Age 16 or older: Total fee is $65.00; the passport fee is $30.00 payable to U.S. Dept. of State. The execution fee is $35.00 payable to Wallowa County. Card is valid for 10 years.

Age 16 or older RENEWAL: Total fee is $30.00 payable to U.S. Dept of State. There is no execution fee as you submit the application yourself.

Age 16 or younger:  Total fee is $45.00; the passport fee is $15.00 payable to U.S. Dept. of State. The execution fee is $35.00 payable to Wallowa County.  Card is valid for 5 years.

First-Time Applicants Must Use Form Ds-11 And Present the Following Items:

  • Original or certified copy of your birth certificate
  • 1 passport photo
  • Acceptable ID such as a valid driver’s licence
  • Social Security Card

To Renew Your Passport Use Form Ds-82. You Must Be Able to Answer Yes to the Following Questions in Order to Use This Form:

  • Passport was issued at age 16 or older and is not damaged
  • Passport was issued in the last 15 years
  • If passport was issued in a different name, you can present a legal document showing new name
  • Expired passport can be presented

Expedited Service

Additional fee is $60.00 per application in addition to the required fees. This is available only in the United States and provides faster processing than routine service. Proof of travel may be required. Express mail can also be requested.
