2024 NW Community Forest Coalition Forum Poster

The Northwest Community Forest Coalition Forum & Field Tour is a multi-day event that brings practitioners together to learn, share, and collaborate around opportunities for community forests across the region.

This year's forum will be in Enterprise, Oregon, hosted in partnership with Wallowa Resource, Wallowa Land Trust, Wallowa County, and more!

The meeting will take place over parts of three days and includes a schedule of:

Tuesday, May 7:

2:00 PM Site Visit to Mount Emily Recreation Area in La Grande, OR.

6:30 PM Forum Welcome Dinner at Cloverleaf Hall in Enterprise, OR.

Wednesday, May 8:

8:30 AM Site Visit to Wallowa East Moraine Community Forest.

12:30 PM - 5:00 PM Day One of Forum Presentations at Cloverleaf Hall.

May 9:

9:00 AM -12:00 PM Day Two of Forum Presentations at Cloverleaf Hall.

Currently, the Forum Agenda Topics Include:

  • Discussion of Development Approaches for Community Forestry in La Grande and Wallowa County.
  • The panel around how Regional or National NGOs support community-led efforts in community forestry.
  • Panel on managing recreation, hunting, and access to properties as ownership changes.
  • Session on Utilizing Alternative Funding Mechanisms to Leverage Community Forest Acquisitions.
